Voor wie hem nog niet kende: “Marco Kroon (41) is Kapitein bij het Korps Commandotroepen. Hij is de eerste militair sinds 1955 die is toegelaten tot de Militaire Willems-Orde, de hoogste militaire onderscheiding die Nederland kent. Koningin Beatrix sloeg Kroon op 29 mei 2009 tot Ridder en reikte hem de versierselen uit.”
